Thursday 16th February 2012 - Community First Credit Union launches the Matrimoney account

Sydney, February 16, 2012 - Community First Credit Union launched the Matrimoney account- a first in Australia. The account is a thoughtful way for engaged couples to request the gift of cash on their wedding day so they can get what they really need.

"The gift of cash for a wedding is becoming increasingly popular for couples" explained John Tancevski, CEO of Community First Credit Union. "The Matrimoney account provides couples with a safer and more convenient way for guests to gift money, which we think will become a popular alternative to the traditional gift registry or wishing well"

Living together before marriage is now more common, which often means that couples already have most of the homewares they need. It's also tradition in some cultures to gift money at a wedding, however as these weddings are typically large, there can be a real security risk with the amount of cash at the reception.

"We hope engaged couples and their guests can use the Matrimoney account to help make the process of gifting money fun and convenient" The account represents great value as it is free to open, comes with free registry cards for wedding invitations and earns couples a high rate of return on their money, growing their cash gift even further. It even comes with a free profile page where guests can view a photo and message from the couple, along with simple payment options.
